The Prof. J. J. Ghosh Foundation was established on 20th June 2012 to commemorate Prof. J. J. Ghosh's vision for the student community of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Calcutta. The Foundation aims to work in areas, which were of deepest concern to Prof. J. J. Ghosh and to strive in promoting effective, and sustainable ideas towards the overall development of the students. |

Prof. Jagat Jiban Ghosh who was well known nationally and internationally as Prof. J. J. Ghosh, was born on July 19, 1925 in the village Subhasgram in South 24 Praganas, West Bengal. Prof. Ghosh was an erudite scholar and eminent teacher in the field of Biological Sciences. He had been associated with teaching and research activities of this University for more than 54 years, till his last breath. Prof. Ghosh graduated with honors in Chemistry from Vidyasagar College under Calcutta University in the year 1945 and M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry with Applied Biochemistry as special subject from the University of Calcutta ....
